Description

Postotic Ear Drops is a combination of steroid, represented by Dexamethasone 0.05% and antibiotics, namely: Polymixin 10,000 units (1.25 mg) and Neomycin Sulfate 3.5 mg/mL. Postotic is prepared as a sterile suspension.

Indications and Usage

Allergic and inflammatory conditions of the external ear canal complicated by infections caused by organisms susceptible to Polymixin and Neomycin. Adjunctive management of acute or chronic steroid responsive dermatoses of the external ear.

Contraindications

Infectious tuberculosis lesions of the ear, chicken pox, Vaccinia and herpes simplex. Sensitivity to any of the components.

Precautions

Antibiotics containing ear drops should be used with extreme caution in cases where the tympanic membrane is perforated. Avoid prolonged usage.

Dosage and Administration

Initially, instill three to four drops bid-tid, then may be reduced gradually. If necessary, a gauze wick may be saturated with a few drops, but the wick must be changed every 12 to 24 hours.

Solution: in a 7.5 mL plastic dropper container.
